Sanitas Residents Visa vs Residents Platinum
Choose Residents Visado when you want comprehensive no-copayment cover and don't need Platinum's broader reimbursement benefits. Consider Platinum Visado when access outside the Sanitas network and its additional international, pharmacy, dental and hospital benefits justify the upgrade. Platinum has a lower joining-age limit.

Which profile points to Residents Visado?
- You're outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland and need the visa version.
- You expect to use the insurer's own medical network.
- You're aged 65–75, so Platinum can't be newly taken out.
- You don't need Platinum's wider reimbursement and extra benefits.
Which profile points to Platinum Visado?
- You're outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland and within its joining age.
- You want meaningful reimbursement for eligible care outside the network.
- International flexibility or the additional pharmacy, dental and hospital benefits matter to you.
Platinum isn't “more accepted” just because it costs more. Whichever way you're leaning, eligibility and the correct product version come first.
What about EU, EEA and Swiss applicants?
The Visado versions aren't available to them. Sanitas lists standard Residents for this nationality group. Ask us about standard Platinum and about the evidence an EU registration case needs.
Price difference
Sanitas publishes dated April 2026 tariffs for both Visado products by age, area and number of insured people; they apply in the first year to new insured people whose cover starts from 1 April through 31 December 2026, before a 0.15% Consorcio surcharge.
Age, area and household size affect both prices, so the clearest comparison is two dated quotes for your exact profile.
Frequently asked questions
Is Platinum required for a visa?
No. What sets it apart is broader reimbursement and added benefits, not a different level of visa approval.
Can I switch later?
Possibly. It depends on the switching and underwriting rules at the time, so ask us first, and keep your existing policy until the new arrangement is confirmed.
Which product can a 70-year-old join?
Residents may be available through age 75; Platinum's joining limit is 64.
