Digital Nomad Visa Application Cost

Both visa-processing services in our group publish €1,899 for a new digital nomad visa (DNV) application for one adult. What you pay on top depends mainly on your route: whether the government application fee is covered, how many documents need translating, and whether you need a private health insurance policy. Prices on this page were checked on 24 October 2026.

Where both services publish the same total price, we show it. Payment schedules and inclusions may differ. For My Spanish DNV's payment schedule: The provider's published pages describe this differently. Confirm the current allowance and payment schedule in writing before instructing them. With either service, also confirm which official fees are included.

What each fee includes

My Spanish DNV lists the full management of your application, sworn translations up to €150 per person and guidance on the residence card (TIE). It includes the government application fee for UGE applications; for consulate applications that fee is paid to the Spanish authorities separately.

Platinum Legal Spain names in its fee: a case manager working with an immigration specialist, an assessment of whether you qualify and which route to use, a check of your documents against what the UGE expects, preparation and online filing of the UGE forms, translations included up to €150, and coordination of apostilles. It also refers to the government application fee in its fee description. Confirm in writing whether that fee is paid for you, and on which route.

If you'll apply through a consulate, ask each service whether the official fee is inside or outside its price.

What you pay separately

  • The government fee, depending on route and service. See above.
  • Apostilles and certificates. Your criminal record certificate and any apostilles are charged by the issuing authorities in your home country.
  • Extra translations. Anything beyond the included amount, which grows with client contracts, company documents and family certificates.
  • Health insurance, where you need a private policy. An annual premium paid to the insurer. See visa and residency health insurance cost.
  • After approval. The residence card (TIE) fee and local registration costs.

How the route changes the cost

Applying through the UGE means you're already in Spain lawfully, so you also carry the cost of living there while the application is decided. Applying through a consulate keeps you at home until the visa is issued, but you pay for the trip to the appointment and, depending on the service, the consulate fee. Neither route is cheaper in every case. Ask your service to compare them for your situation.

Applying with family

Platinum Legal Spain publishes dependants from €499 each, with discounts for several applicants. My Spanish DNV offers a family discount and quotes on request. Each family member also adds documents, translations, any official fees and, where needed, an insurance policy, and your resources have to cover them too. See applying as a family.

Renewal later

Renewal is a separate application with its own fee. Both services currently publish €999 for a DNV renewal for one adult, checked 24 October 2026. Payment schedules and inclusions may differ, so confirm the current terms in writing before instructing either service. Platinum Legal Spain takes its renewal fee as €400 to start and €599 after approval, with translations included up to €75. See DNV renewal help.

Frequently asked questions

Is the €1,899 paid all at once?

No. Both services take it in stages. Confirm the current payment schedule in writing before instructing them.

Is the official application fee included?

It depends on the service and the route. My Spanish DNV includes it for UGE applications only. With Platinum Legal Spain, confirm in writing before you start.

What happens to the fee if the application is refused?

The providers describe different arrangements following a refusal. Check the engagement terms before paying.

Do I need to budget for health insurance?

It depends on your circumstances and route. Where a private policy is needed, its premium is separate from the service fee. Our DNV health insurance guide explains when.
