Using this website

These terms govern your use of the website and any enquiry, quote or application service we provide through it. By using the website or asking for a quote, you accept these terms.

Our role

We are an exclusive insurance agent under Royal Decree-Law 3/2020 and Law 20/2015 (LOSSEAR). This means:

  • we distribute health insurance from Sanitas S.A. de Seguros only;
  • we do not compare products from other insurers; and
  • we act on behalf of the insurer, not as an independent broker.

You can check our registration in the DGSFP register of insurance distributors on the DGSFP website.

Information on this website

The website gives general information about Sanitas health insurance and about the insurance evidence that Spanish visa and residency applications ask for. It is not personal advice.

  • Product descriptions are summaries. Your cover is governed by the policy documents Sanitas issues: the general, particular and special conditions.
  • Consulates, the UGE and immigration offices set their own requirements, and these can change. Always check the current checklist issued by the office handling your application.
  • We cannot guarantee that a consulate or any other authority will accept your application, or that a visa or residence permit will be granted. That decision belongs to the authorities.

Quotes and applications

A quote depends on the information you give us and on Sanitas accepting your application. Sanitas may apply waiting periods, exclusions or loadings, or may decline an application, after its medical assessment.

The insurance contract is between you and Sanitas. We help with the application but are not a party to the policy.

Premiums are paid to Sanitas by the payment method you authorise when you contract. Payment and cancellation are governed by the Sanitas policy conditions and Spanish insurance law.

Duty of disclosure

Under Article 10 of the Insurance Contract Law (Ley 50/1980), you must answer the questions put to you about the risk, including your health, truthfully and completely. Inaccurate or incomplete answers can allow the insurer to reduce benefits, refuse a claim or rescind the policy.

How we are paid

We are paid by commission from Sanitas, which is included in the premium you pay. You do not pay us a separate fee for our distribution service. On request, we will tell you more about the nature of the commission we receive for your policy.

Complaints

How to complain, and how to escalate a complaint, is set out in our Complaints Procedure.

Intellectual property

The content of this website, including its text, design and code, belongs to Stephen Paul Gregory trading as Visa Health Insurance Experts, or is used under licence. The Sanitas name and trademarks belong to their owner and are used only to identify the products we distribute as an authorised exclusive agent.

You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. Any other use needs our prior written consent. In particular, you must not copy, republish, frame or scrape the website's content.

Acceptable use

You must not:

  • submit false, misleading or fraudulent information;
  • try to gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems;
  • introduce malicious code; or
  • use the website in a way that breaks Spanish or EU law.

Liability

To the extent the law allows:

  • the website is provided "as is", and we do not guarantee that it will always be available or free from errors;
  • we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on general information on the website, so always check the Sanitas policy documents before you contract; and
  • nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Under Article 143 of Royal Decree-Law 3/2020, the professional civil liability arising from our insurance-distribution activity is attributed to Sanitas S.A. de Seguros, the insurer with which we have an agency contract, in accordance with that contract.

The website links to other sites, including Sanitas, the DGSFP and official government pages. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the law, our products or our practices change. The version published on this page, with the date shown above, is the one that applies.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of the website, are governed by Spanish law.

The courts of Murcia, Spain, have jurisdiction. This does not affect any mandatory consumer-protection right you have to bring proceedings in the courts where you live.
