No-Copayment Health Insurance for Spanish Visas

A copayment is an amount you pay each time you use a service. Visa applicants are commonly asked for comprehensive insurance without copayments, so look at the exact product version and certificate rather than relying on a brand name alone.

What “sin copago” means

In Spanish product wording, sin copago means the policy doesn't charge a per-use copayment for covered services. It isn't the same as a deductible, an exclusion or a waiting period.

How to spot a copay in policy wording

Look for:

  • sin copago or sin copagos;
  • any tariff of charges per consultation, test or treatment;
  • qualifications tied to a product version;
  • separate waiting-period and exclusion sections.

The visa plans we arrange

Sanitas publishes Residents as having full cover without copayments, and Residents Platinum as having none. Sanitas International Students is also published as no-copayment cover.

No copayments doesn't mean every treatment is covered. Underwriting, exclusions and waiting periods are separate questions.

FAQs

Is “copago” the same as a deductible?

No. A copayment is normally a charge when a covered service is used. A deductible or reimbursement arrangement works differently.

Can I switch to a copay plan later?

Possibly, but the change isn't automatic and may involve a new assessment. We can talk you through the available options before renewal.
