Costs outside the service fee
Depending on the service and route, some of these may be payable on top of the service fee. Confirm in writing which are included:
- the consulate's visa fee where you apply abroad, which can vary by consulate and nationality;
- criminal record and medical certificates, and the apostilles on them;
- translations beyond the included amount;
- your health insurance premium, which depends on age, area, plan and household: see visa and residency health insurance cost;
- the residence card (TIE) fee and local registration after you arrive.
Where the insurance fits in the budget
The insurance is easy to leave out of a budget, but where your route requires a policy, the certificate is needed for the file. We quote it for your route and household, so you can put a real figure next to the service fee before you decide.
